Spring is
coming!
The heat begins to be present this days, Mexico City begins to paint
purple with jacarandas blooming and sunglasses can not be missed.
That is the sign that the favorite season of the year for many is about
to arrive and that is why Kaloyan Valentinov Danchev, our travel expert,
recommends some destinations to experience the spring equinox and fill you with
energy.
Chichén
Itzá
Considered one of the 7 wonders of the world, thousands of people gather
during the spring equinox with the intention of recharging new energies and
witnessing the incredible spectacle of light and shadow.
When the sun's rays hit the rafters of the main staircase, triangles of
light are formed as a result of the shadow projected by the nine bodies or
platforms of the pyramid; that shadow, as the sun advances, runs along the wall
sliding down until it illuminates the head of one of the snakes that are at the
beginning of the staircase.
According to historians, this effect symbolizes the descent of the god
Kukulcán to earth, to begin the agricultural cycle.
Mazunte
Being one of the best
known beaches in Oaxaca, Mazunte has much more to offer than its golden sand
beaches and its surroundings covered in mangroves, wetlands and jungle.
In addition to being a
good excuse to disconnect and take the opportunity to give yourself a break
from the city, during this season and especially during the spring equinox,
different rituals with healers, parties and festivals are carried out to
welcome this new cycle. You won't want to miss it!
Tajín
In the state of
Veracruz, there are different points where you can celebrate the festival to
receive spring, among them, is Tajín, a famous archaeological zone where from
the Pyramid of the Niches you can observe the play of lights, in addition to
enjoying the music, gastronomy and culture of the region.
Teotihuacán
The most typical place
and par excellence the most visited, from the temple of Quetzalpapálotl, thanks
to the light of the Sun, various parts of the construction are illuminated and
you can see the Sun descending in the form of a feathered serpent, which is
part of the symbolism of a new cycle. A must in spring season.
Throughout the Mexican
Republic and above all, within its archaeological zones, you will find
different ways to celebrate the beginning of this new season, do not forget to
go dressed in white and take a bottle of water with you, since in these times
the heat manages to be overwhelming.
Tell us if you visited
any of these destinations and what you thought of the beginning of spring.
